Today we look for magical surprises. My list includes seeing an unusual animal in nature, surprising myself with a poem and hearing the voices of an ancestor while I write, taking dictation.
The last item seems most unusual, so I write about that and my prose turns into a poem:
The joke’s on me today! I expected something airy-fairy but this feels truly haunting. And yet, I know it speaks to the gift in exploring the ancestral wounds and healing the past.
Sometimes it’s hard to see the deeper truths as gifts when they seem dark, but just bringing them to light begins a process of healing that brings peace to ourselves, our families and even the planet.
You don’t need to follow my lead! Your magical day may be light and airy. Enjoy whatever gift your journaling has in store for you today.
Your Turn to Share
I’m curious to see what your journaling generates. Will it be playful? Deep? Joyous? Bold? Ho hum? Magical?
Anything goes. I didn’t necessarily get what I wanted or expected and there’s a tendency for me to then judge it.
If you feel judge-y about your writing, how can you reframe your beliefs about it? Remember we’re just exploring here, no need to perform!
