What is NoWriMoMo? A way to find support, accountability and community and get your questions answered in order to complete a nonfiction goal in the month of November.

If you want to get your nonfiction book written, in addition to the specifics of how to write the book, you’ll need consistent motivation and support—two things many people do not receive in their penned journey.

In the spirit of National Novel Writing Month and creating a sense of camaraderie, for the month of November, discussion on the Bring Your Book to Life Facebook Page will support writers to set goals in their nonfiction writing and complete them by month’s end.

What’s your goal? Complete an article? Four blog posts? Four chapters in a book? State your goal today and let us know when you’ll be writing.

All month long you’ll find support from fellow writers, a place to state your commitments, and opportunity to be accountable. In addition—and as always—feel free to ask questions and I’ll answer you. We’ve come up with themes for each week, but as far as questions go, feel free to stray from the specific theme to ask whatever it is that will help you complete your November nonfiction goal.

Here’s the schedule for the month:

November 2 – 6: Set up for Success and Introduce Yourself.

Nov. 2: Introduce yourself and share what you’re working on. State your goals for the month and share your commitment for the week. Any day: Ask any question here or on the facebook page.

How did you do on your commitments? Share your successes and challenges Nov. 7 to start the week on the right foot. All Week: Lisa will share about working from a structure or outline for your project. Share what works for you and ask your questions.  What’s working? What’s not? Analyze where you need help and what you need. Get support from Lisa and the community. Nov. 13: Share your commitments for the coming week.

November 14-20:Break Through Your Blocks:

How did you do on your commitments? Share your successes and challenges Nov. 14 to start the week on the right foot. All Week: Get stuck anywhere? Share the details and get Lisa’s support–and the community’s support–to get unstuck. Nov. 20: Share your commitments for the final week.

November 21 – 30 Clarify Your Voice

How did you do on your commitments? Share your successes and challenges Nov. 21 to start the week on the right foot. All Week: We’ll explore the role of voice and tone and how to create that in nonfiction. Share your questions. At the end of the week we’ll explore what needs to happen to meet your goal.  Reach out for support to stay on track and make it happen. Get support from Lisa and the community. Nov. 30: Share your successes. Make a plan for next steps.

At the culmination of this month-long event, in addition to achieving your goal for the month, you will discover the value of a writing community and the genuine care and support fellow authors can provide.
