A year ago, my good friend Donna Mac invited me to the Dream Party. I looked forward to seeing her, since we live in different states, so I showed up. Donna invited me to get with the spirit of the event and, “Come as you aspire to be 5 years from now.”
Five years is a long time. What did I aspire to be? A bestselling author? Midwife to dozens of bestselling authors? I looked in my closet for inspiration. There was the gold embroidered jacket and gold krinkled skirt I bought for my friend’s wedding but didn’t get to wear (that’s another story).
I wanted to wear it, but it didn’t look particularly book coach like or author-like or… it looked..what? Golden. Regal. Sparkly. An enlightened being kind of outfit. I don’t know where the idea quite came from but I felt filled with excitement when I thought of it. Yes.
It took a while to find the Edgewood Yacht Club. I parked on a side street and found my way up to the second floor where I walked over the footbridge to the future. I got to become an enlightened being and it felt different, by gosh. Expansive.
I left my shoulds at the door. And my impossibles. I enjoyed a quiet moment in the time machine writing a letter to myself from the future.
Tara Sage Steeves instructed us to introduce ourselves as if it were 2013 and we were truly living our dreams. I met many bestselling authors that night who had been on Oprah. Some people took a while to get it, “I hope to be on Oprah in 5 years.”
Luckily, as an enlightened being, I got to help them out, “Yes, I saw you on Oprah the other day. Remind me what you said…it was fascinating.”
If you’re in Rhode Island on October 2, I hope you’ll join me this year at The Dream Party, brainchild of author and coach, Tara Sage Steeves. But if you’re from too far away to join us physically, participate from afar. Consult with Tara to throw your own dream party. Or call a friend and invite them to participate in a lunch date or cup of tea where you fast forward 5 years and talk about your dreams as if they’ve already happened.
It’s powerful stuff. At last year’s party, Pat Hastings shared her dream of helping women find the spirit within and love themselves and to do this as a speaker, bestselling author and spiritual coach.
After the dream party, she went on to lead several women’s retreats including one in Bermuda, speak at a number of conferences, appear on dozens of radio shows, and now she’s even hosting her own radio show. She says her own TV show is on the way.
Pat told me she felt the dream party definitely played a role in how quickly she manifested many aspects of her dream. I remember seeing her adorned at the dream party with her picture pasted next to Oprah’s as a guest on the show…so I assume that part of the dream is on its way.
Feel free to share your dreams below–whether you can make it on October 2 or not.

Hi Lisa, yes the Dream Party is so much fun. It’s magical and dreams do come true when we can see them in our minds. At the dream party, we are not only seeing our dreams in our minds, we get to play and be the dream. Very powerful and I am certainly living my dream and daily see the miracles happen. See you there.

BTW–the beach picture of you rocks Lisa! Looks like where your dream is heading. I am excited about The Dream Party–busy thinking about what I will wear to be my future self and live in that place. Last year was not only fun–but enriching and inspiring. I love when all that comes together. Tara makes that happen with ease. See you there!

Can you feel the excitement in the air? Just a couple weeks to “The Ultimate Law of Attraction” event. Tara has created an amazing experience for each of us to claim our dreams and to begin the journey of manifesting them. I’m honored to be sponsoring this powerful event again this year. I look forward to seeing you all there!

While I won’t be able to physically attend, I will most certainly be there on 10/2! Thank you for the “invite!”
