How Unresolved Stress Eventually Turns Into Pain

Did you know that unresolved stress eventually turns into pain? Most people think that when they’re in pain, that’s the first indication that something is wrong. In reality, pain is the last indicator that something is wrong.

Unresolved Stress Turns Into Pain

Pain means that something has been going on for a long time. And so when you think about pain I want you to think “I’m sitting in this chair as a white collar worker, 8 to 12 hours a day, and then 5 years in, I started to get back pain.”
Is that happening because you sat down on Monday and all of a sudden all of that tension just showed up? No. Stress transforms into tension, and then tension creates structural distortion.
Structural distortion is when you feel the pain, but the real cause of all of that pain is unrelieved, unresolved, long-term stress. It bleeds into every part of your life. And if you’re in pain, all you need to do is reverse engineer it.

The Key to Relieving Your Pain

The key to relieving your pain is to simply take out the tension. The tension sits in the middle. On the left is unresolved stress. On the right is structural, emotional, psychological distortion. What sits directly in the middle? Unresolved and unrelieved physical tension. If you remove the physical tension, the distortion disappears, and so does the stress that caused the distortion. That’s the key to dealing with your pain.
To learn more about my story and how I personally removed tension from my body, read my book Free for Life: A Navy SEAL’s Path to Inner Freedom and Outer Peace.
