Believe it or not, some of the fittest individuals often still struggle with their health. This is because external fitness doesn’t equal internal health. Or, in other words, being fit doesn’t always mean that you’re healthy.
True Health Begins Internally
You can look a certain way, but if your behavior is toxic, you might want to focus more of your energy on your inner health. True health begins internally and we reflect it outwardly. Contrarily, we witness fitness externally.
When you look at health, you have to consider all aspects of a being.
If my energy is low, if I have pain in my body, if I’m living in a continuous state of anxiety, am I healthy?
There are a lot of people who are very fit and have a lot of pain in their body, they deal with an intense amount of anxiety, they have very toxic thoughts, and they have a low amount of energy.
Ask yourself one simple question: Am I prioritizing my inner health vs. my external fitness?
Remember: Health is much more than a 6-pack. Health is about the internal experience of yourself.
It’s Time to Prioritize Inner Health
Next time you step into the gym with the intent of pushing yourself to your limits, consider the extreme amounts of tension and stress you are putting into your body, and how you are actually pushing yourself farther and farther away from your most functional state.
And ask yourself – am I prioritizing my inner health? Or my outer aesthetics?
Remember – External fitness doesn’t equal internal health – your health starts from within.
