Creating Your Restorative Home Environment

Your surroundings are important—especially when it comes to curating a restorative home environment.

To truly make your home a sanctuary, figure out the elements that make you feel calm and grounded. Your home should be the place you can go to consistently restore your energy.

Embrace the Power of Plants

For many, a home filled with plants is instantly more calming and grounded. Beyond the visual appeal, plants provide a great source of fresh oxygen in your living space.

Consider visiting your local garden center to bring a variety of greenery into your home. This focus on air quality can be especially vital for those who have experienced poor air quality, such as the intense toxic smoke seen recently in places like California.

Other Ways to Curate a Restorative Home Environment

Personalize Your Visuals

Focus on what you see every day. Put beautiful pictures on your walls—select images that truly inspire you, like future travel destinations, serene landscapes, or personal milestones. If you spend your days in a high-pressure office, the importance of surrounding yourself with calming, inspiring visuals at home is even greater.

Add the Soothing Sound of Water

Consider adding a small fountain to your home. The gentle sound of running water can be incredibly soothing and can provide a healing background ambiance for your environment.

What element are you most excited to add to your home first?
