3 Ways to Quickly De-Stress in Your Daily Life

Christopher Lee Maher shares three ways to quickly de-stress in your daily life:

Number 1: Take a deep breath.

Take a deep breath down into your belly, exhale and let go. Imagine that the stress is leaving your body when you’re exhaling. Repeat three times to feel an immediate impact.

Number 2: Get moving.

Utilize some kind of movement practice.

If you’re at work, get out of your chair, go for a walk around your floor, or take a five minute walk outside.

If you’re at home, step into your daily yogic practice, or what I would be using if it were me: BESTercise. BESTercise is the best form of exercise because it uses isometric, eccentric, and concentric contractions to bring your nervous system into a state of perfect homeostasis.

Number 3: Hire someone to work on your body.

See an acupuncturist, message therapist, chiropractor, etc. You will benefit from any one of these practices. But if it were me, I would be doing Ma Xing, because it’s the deepest form of relaxation that you’re ever going to get to experience through body work.

The most important thing that you must learn to do is to prioritize yourself. Make sure that at least once a day you’re spending 5-15 minutes doing something to reduce your daily stress load.
