In part two of our blog series on symptoms of how stress manifests in your body (check out the first part here), Christopher is sharing three more ways stress manifests in your body. It may not be surprising to learn that losing hair, waking up exhausted, and using intimacy as a coping mechanism are more signs that you are stressed. And your body wants you to know it!

Keep reading to learn more:

1. Thinning hair.

Men and women are starting to have thinning hair at much younger ages. I fly around a lot for work and whenever I’m walking back towards the bathroom, I’m looking at the top of people’s heads. I see young men and young women who have some intense unresolved stress and it’s showing up in your hairline and a thinning at the crown of your head.

2. Using sex as a coping strategy.

Another way that stress may be manifesting is that you’re using sex as a coping strategy. Whether you’re masturbating, whether you have friends with benefits, however you’re participating. The question to ask yourself is, do I really want to connect with them at an emotional level or am I utilizing this as an opportunity for me to reduce my stress?

3. Feeling exhausted when you wake up.

The last way stress shows up that we’re going to discuss today is how you feel when you wake up in the morning. If you are waking up exhausted, your stress load is higher than your body can recover from. You should be waking up refreshed and ready to conquer the day!

Reduce Your Lifetime Accumulated Stress Loads

Your body is always speaking to you every single day in a very specific way. If you ignore the signs that it’s giving you, you will eventually end up in an intense state of dis-ease.

So, take prudent action to your own benefit.

Spend as much time as you can each day, whether it’s 5, 10, 15, 20+ minutes, reducing your daily stress and a little bit of your lifetime accumulated stress load. Just a small amount of time per day is going to make you feel a lot better! For more tips on stress relief, click here.
