All participants in TBI services are entitled to receive the highest standard of service and professional conduct from TBI students and from TBI certificate holders.
This Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct (this “Code”) has been established and will be regularly reviewed and updated by the TBI Academy. This Code contains the guiding principles, duties, responsibilities and standards by which TBI students and TBI certificate holders conduct their day-to-day activities within their Scope of Service. Through this Code, the TBI community seeks to uphold the high standards, traditions, and principles that comprise the TBI organization. This Code also serves to educate people outside of the TBI organization about the high standards under which TBI students and professionals operate.
As a prerequisite condition to enrolling in any TBI Training Program or receiving any TBI certificate, all students and certificate holders agree to abide by this Code.
The TBI Academy Certification Committee (“TBIACC”) has been entrusted with the task of monitoring the TBI community for any ethically unacceptable behavior that breaches this Code and/or may reflect negatively upon the TBI organization or the TBI community. As a general principal, in the event an allegation is made against an TBI Academy student or certificate holder, the TBI ACC will examine the matter and will issue a recommended course of action to the Board of the TBI Academy (the “Board”). The Board will issue all final decisions to students and certified professionals, disciplinary or otherwise.
This Code comprises the fundamental principles, duties and responsibilities that all TBI students and TBI certificate holders owe to their clients/participants, the TBI community, and to the public at large. It is worth noting that this Code is not designed to list every ethically challenging situation that one may face while in service. Rather, this Code is designed to outline the minimally accepted standards of ethical and professional conduct that must be applied—at all times—by TBI students and certificate holders.
The TBI community believes that an TBI student’s and certificate holder’s ability (or inability) to adhere to the principles, duties, and/or standards in this Code will clearly communicate their level of competence and fitness to share TBI services with the world. Members of the TBI community are dedicated to upholding this Code, and all members fully accept the consequences in the event they fail to do so. This Code amounts to enforceable guidelines for professional conduct. In the event an TBI student or certificate holder violates any provision of this Code (or violates the spirit of any provision of this Code), appropriate disciplinary action may be taken by the TBI Academy and the TBI ACC, including, and not limited, to revocation of a certificate, expulsion from class, and/or reporting to the appropriate authority.
