Amy O’Brien<\/a>, author of Stuck with Mr. Wrong: 10 Steps to Starring in Your Own Life Story<\/em> has won four awards for this powerful, creative and fun book.\u00a0 I asked Amy to share some of her secrets to winning awards:<\/p>\n Lisa: What process did you go through to identify the awards?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n Lisa: How many contests did you enter?<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Amy<\/span><\/strong>: Four:\u00a0 International Book Awards, National Indie Excellence Awards<\/a>, USA Best Books<\/a>, and Next Generation Indie Book Awards<\/a>.\u00a0 I won two International book awards (Winner:\u00a0 Best Self-Help Relationships, Finalist Best New Non-Fiction), one National Indie Excellence (Finalist:\u00a0 Best Self-Help) and one USA Best Book (Finalist Best Self-Help:\u00a0 Relationship).<\/p>\n Amy<\/span><\/strong>: I was invited to speak at the What Women Want (now called Inner Woman<\/a>) series<\/strong> and I have another lead to follow up on today.\u00a0 Being a “Four-Time Award-Winning Author” has a nice ring to it.\u00a0 Especially as a self-published author, it adds credibility to my work. I plan to use this to book additional speaking gigs. Amy<\/span><\/strong>: All you have to do is complete the entry form and identify what categories you are entering.\u00a0 I didn’t have to answer any questions.<\/p>\n Lisa<\/span><\/strong>: I know how fulfilling it’s been for you to hear back from readers whose lives have been transformed by your powerful book. I imagine that these contests and the speaking will help you have an impact on even more people.
