One of my clients sent a pitch for a blog post to a very large public blog that would be perfect for her audience. She didn’t hear back.<\/p>\n

She called the editor and left a brief message. Good thing she did. The e-mail had been mis-routed and the editor had never received it. The editor sent an e-mail thanking her for the call, telling her about the mistake and saying she’d be in touch early next week.<\/p>\n

You certainly don’t want to be obnoxious in contacting editors, but if you’ve pitched a blog post or story and haven’t heard back, it’s certainly appropriate to make sure they received your e-mail and mention a brief sentence or two about the pitch.<\/p>\n

It’s just too easy for e-mails to end up in never-never land. And it’s important to get your message out there. Be polite. Be brief. But sure–make that call.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
