Why should grammar be important to you and I as writers?<\/p>\n

Let me count the ways. But really.<\/p>\n

\"EnglishMy dad, Martin J Tener was a english teacher. He emphasized the importance of it while we grew up. He might of easily made a list like this:<\/p>\n

  1. Good grammar help make your writing clear, so that you’re readers do not misunderstand your meaning.<\/li>\n
  2. Good grammar makes it easier to read your writing so that the words flow and it’s more enjoyable to read and less hard on your readers so that they don’t have to spend lots of time trying to figure out what you meant to say as opposed to what you actually wrote.<\/li>\n
  3. Good grammar gives your credibility, poor grammar makes you look ignorant, lazy or careless.<\/li>\n
  4. I’d be up to number 5 by now if I hadn’t of crammed so many reasons into number 2!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Email me your list<\/a> of all the grammar errors you found in this post along with your mailing address. The first 5 people to identify 12 or more errors correctly will win a portable journal. And, nope, there is no period after the “J” in Dad’s middle name. Good guess, though.<\/p>\n
