Is it possible to write the wrong book<\/strong>? Yes. You may write a book that:<\/p>\n

*\u00a0 Doesn’t meet your goals<\/strong><\/span> for sales, impact or results (the results it gets for you, your business or your readers)<\/p>\n

*\u00a0 Doesn’t speak to the audience and meet them where they are<\/span><\/strong>. Maybe it’s too technical, speaks the wrong language (sports metaphors for women artists) or assumes a common experience or belief system that isn’t accurate.<\/p>\n

*\u00a0 Is hard to follow or doesn’t flow well<\/span><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

*\u00a0 Loses your readers’ interest<\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Or a number of other issues. Avoid this unnecessarily sorry fate\u00a0 by thinking clearly through your book concept from the beginning<\/span><\/strong>: clarifying who your audience <\/span><\/strong>is and what they want<\/span><\/strong> (not what you think they need), then matching your content, tone, table of contents, features<\/span><\/strong>, etc. to that specific audience. And, of course, polish your book to perfection.<\/p>\n
